In the Old Testament we find a lot of stories where God's people are begging Him for mercy and blessings. There were people who stood as intercessors between God and the people who spent their lifetime pleading with God to show some favor. This was simply the way of life in that time. But if we are in a new covenant, this type of reaction should change.
Psalm 51:1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba: Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. (ESV)
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. (ESV)
Since Jesus died to cover our sins, we are seen by the Father as though we have never sinned. It is quite amazing that He looks at us and sees no blemish. He sees only the perfection of His beloved son. If we are seen through the filter of Jesus we have all the favor in the world! We no longer have to beg God to show us mercy and favor because He already does! We don't have to earn it or beg for it like they did in the old covenant, but simply receive and thank Him for it.
If you are begging God to do something for you, I'm sorry but you're wrong to do so. He has already done it. He has already provided it. He has already lavished you with love and favor and blessings. You don't have to find favor because you already have it! Now accept this gift with a thankful heart.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (ESV)
Ephesians 1:3-10 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known] to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. (ESV)
