Coming to know Jesus as our King means our spirits are reborn and reconnected to God when we accept Him in our heart. This highlights the great importance of our spirits! We were created to be spirits with a body, not bodies with a spirit. Why then, do we not approach life from a spiritual perspective over a natural one? We seek to solve problems with earthly solutions and with an earthly mentality when we have access to powerful spiritual weaponry through the name of Jesus Christ.
We look at sickness as a simple infection we've picked up as opposed to an attack to be prayed against. We think of finances under the constraints of a budget we put together rather than asking Jesus what He wants to do with our (His) money. We judge people for their actions and never stop to think of the reason why they're acting that way, from Jesus' standpoint. These are just some examples of how real the spiritual world around us actually is! Jesus reigns over everything and there isn't anything He can't do! So why do we exclude Him from parts of our life when He should be at the center of it all?
It is time to change our thinking. It is time to start looking at life from Jesus perspective. Compare what you see with His word and it is amazing how much clarity you gain. You are then able to recognize what is from Him and what isn't. That lets us know how and what to pray for in respects to our needs and circumstances. When we see things for what they actually are and battle them as such, life transforms before us. We have authority with the name of Jesus over the evil spirits that afflict us and those around us. Let's start using it!
2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (NIV)
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (ESV)
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. (ESV)
John 14:13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (ESV)
Luke 10:17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” (ESV)
