Hide and Seek

    How does one really get to know Jesus? We know that being a Christian is not about rules, but rather relationship. Jesus wants a personal relationship with us all. The way we grow that relationship is simple-- we seek Him. 

    We try to overcomplicate Christianity when it all goes back to one simple thing-- a relationship with Jesus Christ. From there, we are simply transformed through His presence. But we must be seeking Him out. Not half-heartedly, but truly with our whole heart. He wants all of us and we have to want Him back to find Him. 

    Jesus is a gentleman of gentleman. He will never force Himself on us, but makes Himself easy to find if we just seek Him out. If you are having a hard time developing a relationship with Him ask yourself if you have sincerely been seeking Him. If you do, you will find Him near.

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. (NIV)

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (NIV)

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. (ESV)

Proverbs 8:17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. (ESV)

Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously. (NLT)

     For a couple weeks now the Lord has been pressing this message on my heart. He revealed a flaw in my thinking I hadn't noticed. You see, when hard times come it's in my nature to duck and cover. I go into "survival mode" and I get tunnel vision. I only focus on getting through what's in front of me alive. But in doing so, not only do I miss a lot of opportunities, but I give in to the voice of fear in my life.     I know I don't speak only for myself when I say that God wants to us in our "every day lives." Listen Up

    Is Jesus talking to you? I hear many people wonder how to hear God's voice and what to listen for. I want to offer a bit of wisdom on the topic. If you are wondering if God is talking to you, the answer is yes. We were designed to have a relationship with our creator and He is always there trying to get ahold of you if you'll only pay a little attention.     How does God communicate with us? The first way is through His word. Those are direct words from God Himself, written through His people. The Bible is our instruction manual to life. How Firm a Foundation

Matthew 7:24-27 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
