It's typical to tell others in the Christian community, "I'll pray for you." However, sometimes those words feel like a cop-out. I think we need a reminder of just how powerful prayer is. There is nothing about prayer that is lazy or ineffective-- just read scripture! When we give our circumstances over to God in prayer, trusting Him to take care of them, is is the most proactive thing we can do. Don't get me wrong-- Jesus does move on our hearts to take action. However, the first thing we should do is pray. We should be speaking to God constantly and always seeking His guidance. Do not wait to use prayer as your last resort, because no matter how big or small the circumstances, Jesus is always the right solution.
