One True Judge

    It is very easy in life to judge people and events by what we see, when in actuality what we think we see may be completely false. Most of the time we only get a glimpse into a person's life or into a situation. There is no way to judge what the big picture is by that tiny puzzle piece! Plus, we make our own assumptions based on our imperfect opinions and perspectives. This is why the Bible warns us not to judge others.

    When situations look hopeless, we need to trust that God is in control. He is the judge of timing and of hearts. Rarely are we able to see what He is putting together behind the scenes until He is ready to debut His work. It may look like nothing has changed on the outside, but He might be laying all things in place for a radical change on the inside. This is the way our God works!

    In short, I would like to remind you who the righteous judge is. He gives and takes away-- all of His own accord. He knows the hearts of man and is always working everything perfectly into His divine plan. You do not get to deem others "worthy" of a position or finances or anything else! He puts us all where He wants us.

    Pay attention to your thoughts this week concerning judgement. For example, do you view the Presidency as divine appointment or human error? Because we know that God gives those positions. Do you judge others as hopeless without knowing what God is doing? I challenge you to align your thinking into submission of our almighty God and His good judgement. His ways are far above ours.

Isaiah 45:2 I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. (NIV)
Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (NIV)

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (ESV)

Listen Up

    Is Jesus talking to you? I hear many people wonder how to hear God's voice and what to listen for. I want to offer a bit of wisdom on the topic. If you are wondering if God is talking to you, the answer is yes.
