Rise Up

     There is undoubtedly evil in this world we inhabit. We all suffer because of it. When we coexist with our enemy this is the reality we face. Even so, we know that Jesus has defeated death and darkness. For us who know Him, it is only a matter of time before we are in paradise free from it all. But what about while we are here?

    Jesus provides everything we need to make it through this lifetime before the next. Through Him we have peace in every circumstance, unconditional love in a conditional world, rest in the chaos, and hope in the midst of hopelessness. He takes what Satan intends for evil and turns it around for our good. He makes beauty of our ashes. 

    In the chaos of this world, remember that you have peace. Remember that Jesus is working all things together for your good. You will rise from the ashes beautifully and victoriously in Jesus. Cling to Him and let Him carry you to the finish line.


Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (NLT)

Isaiah 61:3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory. (NLT)

Isaiah 54:17 But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken! (NLT)

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (NIV)

Seeing by Faith

    When we are trying to live by faith, the things that inhibit us are the things that are right under our noses. We are trained to live based on the things around us. We don't believe anything if we don't see proof of it. The things around us are more our reality than what we say we believe in. But the Bible tells us that we are to walk by faith and not by sight. We are to live based on what we know is truth, not by what we see.     The things we see around us distract us from the reality we should be living in. What is unseen is eternal and more important than the things of this world. We need to fix our eyes on what is lasting and know the difference. Pergamum

Revelation 2:13-16  “I know that you live in the city where Satan has his throne, yet you have remained loyal to me. You refused to deny me even when Antipas, my faithful witness, was martyred among you there in Satan’s city. “But I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you whose teaching is like that of Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to sin by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin. In a similar way, you have some Nicolaitans among you who follow the same teaching. Interesting that what He told the church in Smyrna they were doing wrong was just what those in Pergamum were doing right!
